Sandra Skendzic earned a bachelor’s and master’s degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of California, Santa Barbara in 2013 and 2015, respectively. Her graduate research was centered on optoelectronic devices and photonic circuits. She has been working in the industry at private companies for 12 years now and has gained experience in optoelectronic module design and validation, high-speed digital/RF communications, fiber-optic network diagnostics, and optical sensors. Additionally, she is skilled in device modeling and simulation, circuit design, and redistribution layer (RDL) layout. Sandra is a named inventor on four U.S. patents in optical coupling, optical sensing, and fiber-optic network diagnostics. In the last 8 years, she has served as the technical lead for various projects in both research and development and new product development. While doing so, she has become passionate about guiding cross-functional teams from concept to prototype and validation, and into a production-ready product.
