TSD15 - PEAK Performers in Engineering: Lean Safety- Applying Lean to Your Safety Program
Program Description
PDHs available!
This presentation explains how Lean principles and safety culture are deeply connected, emphasizing that true safety excellence comes from a mindset—not just compliance programs or slogans. Lean Safety focuses on eliminating waste, understanding the real causes of accidents through process-based root-cause analysis, and shaping beliefs, behaviors, and systems that prevent incidents before they occur. Building a Lean safety culture requires trust, leadership engagement, and the understanding that people are a company’s greatest resource. By applying Lean tools such as PDCA and 5-Why Root Cause Analysis, teams can continuously improve both safety and productivity while ensuring that employees feel valued and protected.
