Program Description
Sustainable infrastructure doesn’t get built by accident: it’s designed, assessed, and delivered by certified Envision Sustainability Professionals (ENV SPs) who know how to incorporate sustainability into their plans from the start. In this online training, taught by an ISI-approved Envision Trainer, you’ll learn to apply official Envision principles to plan, verify, design, and deliver more sustainable infrastructure projects.
This training is developed, promoted, and delivered through a collaborative partnership between MSOE and the Institute for Sustainable Infrastructure (ISI). It utilizes the official ISI curriculum and prepares participants to take the exam for the internationally recognized ENV SP credential.

Deborah Jackman, Ph.D., PE, LEED, AP, ENV, SP is an Adjunct Professor and Professor Emeritus within the Civil and Architectural Engineering and Construction Management (CAECM) department. She has technical expertise in sustainability, building energy systems, and process systems analysis (from an energy and water use perspective). As a current and former program director and department chair, she has experience in curriculum development, assessment of student learning, and higher education administration. She is also a member of the Peer Review Corps of the Higher Learning Commission and has experience and expertise in the regional accreditation process. In addition to using the left side of her brain in the aforementioned activities, Professor Jackman also exercises the right side of her brain in the pursuit of musical activities. She holds an advanced degree in liturgical music from Concordia University and plays the pipe organ and piano semi-professionally
